Basic HTML essays There are six basic steps you must follow in order to create a web page in HTML. For those who don ¡Ã‚ ¯t know what it HTML is, it is the coding language that is used to create, develop, and maintain these WebPages such as Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, etc. Although there are other complex languages such as XML and DHTML, they are derived from the basics of HTML. First thing to do before we get started on HTML is to open up a text-editing program such as Notepad.exe or Wordpad.exe. HTML is just text so this can be accomplished by utilizing one of these simple programs. There are other HTML editing/WebPages building programs out there such as Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Macromedia Fireworks, but they have to be purchased in the computer software vendors. Now, if you have the text editor open, let ¡Ã‚ ¯s get started. Your first command is to initiate the creation of the WebPages. Since all HTML is written in  ¡Ã‚ °flags ¡, where annotates the beginning, and annotates the end, start by typing on the top of the page, noting that this will be the start of a webpage. Now, go down to the next line in the document. Make sure to give enough space between tags, so every tag won ¡Ã‚ ¯t be jammed together. It will make editing the document easier in the future. You ¡Ã‚ ¯re second HTML flag will be the Title of this web document. Initiate the title with a flag, type in  ¡Ã‚ °This is my first HTML page ¡. Then type annotating that this is the end of the title. (What you ¡Ã‚ ¯ve typed within the flags will show on the top frame bar of the browsers). 9 Types Of Blog Posts That Will Boost Traffic You work hard on  every blog post. Word by word, line by line to make your blog posts perfect. You even attach shareable images, break them into digestible paragraphs, and do the best outreach marketing process you can do. But still, sometimes they  just dont deliver the traffic, shares, and leads you were hoping for. Its simply because your audience doesnt like the blog posts  youre publishing. The solution to  this problem is also simple- just publish the content your audience wants.  You need something that can not only save you time but can also guarantee results. Its time for you to identify the types of blog posts  that will give you results.  The content that gave your competitors an edge over you. The content that made a common person a huge  influencer in  your niche. Lets explore  these winning types of blog posts that the big marketing influencers are rocking right now that have helped them get  huge followings and grow their businesses. 1. Publish  Long List Posts To Get More  Backlinks No arguments. List posts are the best. And no, I’m not talking about only list posts; I’m talking about LONG list posts. These guys  are the ones that: Attract audience attention by their obscure number. Show your expertise. Are immensely actionable  for your audience as they read your content. Are super informative. Are easy to read and scan for the  big takeaways. Not to mention, list posts overwhelm your readers. A lot of folks may  need to read these  posts a few times just to learn all of the information you have to provide. Without any hesitation, I’ll admit that I still visit Jon Morrow’s list of 317 power words. I’m that dull. ;) Copyblogger- one of the most influential  content marketing blogs- has so many list posts among its popular posts. And they're still regularly publishing them. Here's a headline from Copyblogger. Just take a look at how many shares this long list post is pulling in. Look at Brian Dean, founder of Backlinko, who attracted lots of eye balls through his 9th post called 200 search engine ranking factors. And according to Brian, this post still brings him 10,000–15,000 visitors per month, even months after he initially published the thing. Not to mention, the post ranks #2 for term â€Å"ranking factor†, which is bound to keep that traffic flowing in. Here's how to write a long list post: Find your big idea. Write down as many points as you can. Refine your list to the most important points. Write an emotional headline involving the number (usually odd numbers perform the best). Make it little longer  than any other post you've seen on your idea. Include lots of images and   buttons to entice social shares. Include bonus takeaways in a content upgrade to turn your traffic into subscribers. But, while doing so, make sure not to dilute its quality. For example, Jimmy Daly, editor of Vero Blog, compiled a massive list of 500 tips for this post. But, he preferred quality over quantity and refined the list to 20.  And, the results? That post resulted in getting 300+ links and 2,500+ shares in less than 30 days. Pro Tip: Consider groupings in your  list posts with proper subheads. It makes your readers curious to  keep them reading. Write Research-Backed, Data-Driven Posts To Grow Your Traffic Want to position yourself as an expert? Research can establish you as an authority. Peep Laja, founder of ConversionXL, is one of the best CROs (Conversion Rate Optimizer) out there.  You know why? The guy  positioned himself as an expert with  evidence and data-backed content. So instead of saying â€Å"simple websites are better†, he includes evidence and says: In a study by Google in August of 2012, researchers found that not only will users judge websites as beautiful or not within 1/50th – 1/20th of a second, but also that â€Å"visually complex† websites are consistently rated as less beautiful than their simpler counterparts. Here’s one more example; look at the image below: Looks familiar, right? Indeed, it is. Because Buzzsumo wrote a grand research post  on OkDork. And, after that, it went viral. More importantly, it received 2,228 links. That's kind of a big deal. I know you must be thinking that this kind of research would take months to conduct. Look, I didn’t tell you that yours  should be as huge as that example. Instead, it can be a result of a simple test. Here’s an example: Alex, the founder of Groove, wrote a guest post for the Buffer blog. In this post, he shared a result of simple test:  power of story in your blog. And that simple test got 10,000 shares from social media. Or as Alex puts it in his words: Within an hour of the post being published, we had 1,000 new unique visitors. That soon turned into 5,000, and then 10,000, and before long, 20,000. Not to mention, also wrote a guest post for OkDork sharing their headline report. That post was one of several they wrote to understand their audience's interests in writing better headlines. After that was super successful, they repurposed  that same data to build their headline analyzer, which has now contributed 292,995 pageviews and 16,191 new email subscribers. Kudos :-) So how can you write research-backed, data-driven types of blog posts? Find a  helpful, big idea on  something that is never covered. Or you could take Brian Dean's advice and apply the skyscraper technique to your content to outdo anyone else who's already published something similar. Determine how you'll gather the data you need in your post to make it factual and super  actionable. Show why it's important to your  audience. Add relevant images, graphs, and charts to prove your points. Add your viewpoint to every research point. This is usually where you can include actionable guidance. Lead your post to a strong call-to-action. 3.  Share Your Success To  Turn Traffic Into Profit There’s a trend these days. People are publishing posts that share  their success. And of course, these posts go viral within just weeks of publishing.  I mean who wouldn't like to read: How We Got 37 Million Hits In 3 Days People go nuts when they see posts like these.  Another reason that success-sharing posts posts  work is because like case studies, they also have a story that  their audience can relate to, and they follow a step-by-step approach to solve the problem. Here's an interesting example... Alex, founder of Groove, knew that these types of blog posts were  becoming some of their hits. But like many others, he had no story  to share with his audience. And as Alex himself put it in his own words: We didn’t have Ten Tips for Building a Successful Business or A Guide To Making Millions; because, we hadn’t lived those stories yet. ...but  he didn’t give up. He noticed the gap and started sharing his ongoing journey to $100,000 in monthly  revenue. After that, the blog took off. It became one of the must-read blogs for startups. And it didn't stop there- the blog helped him grab endorsements from big influencers like Hiten Shah and Andrew Warner. And now the company's monthly revenue is $186,000. Takeaway: When it comes to marketing, there is nothing like a rule. Try to break every rule and frame your own. Do this yourself: Brainstorm how you're solving some of your own biggest challenges. Connect the dots between your own challenges and the problems your audience faces every day. Write an open, honest, and transparent post about how you're overcoming that challenge to reach your goals. If that post is successful, consider doing what Groove did and dedicate an entire blog to posts on those topics. Break every rule and frame your own.4. Share New Methods  To Coin New Terms And Stand Out In Search Results Your audience is always looking for new ways to solve their problems. They don’t want to follow the same track because it’s just not giving them success anymore. You need to give them something new that  can solve their problem- a method that's  working for you, has already solved your problem, and something different that no one has covered before. Give your audience new method posts to build your authority. #bloggingUnlike success-sharing posts, these types of blog posts will help your audience solve a problem with your new approach. So yes, they work wonders if done properly. Look at  Noah Kagan’s Quant based marketing  as an example. It was a new concept for startups because before it, there was only â€Å"hope-based marketing†. So, it made his post stand out. After that, Noah wrote many posts explaining the concept more deeply. And, who can forget Brain Dean’s skyscraper technique- it was the only technique that  guaranteed you results. No doubt, that's why this post is the most popular post on his entire site. Also, before 2010, â€Å"Growth Hacker† was not even a term, but after Sean Ellis coined it in one of his blog posts with the help of Hiten Shah and Patrick Vlaskovits, it's now a highly reputable position. After that, Andrew Chen introduced it to a much wider audience, calling growth hacker  the new VP of marketing. These types of blog posts are great  because: They make you look authoritative with innovative ideas. You have your own keyword that will rank you #1 in search results. They tend to go viral on social media. So how can you  write a new method post? Find your unique angle that  you used to solve a problem- like  how  Bryan Harris found a new way to drive traffic using his poster boy method. Convert it into a step-by-step solution. Name it something descriptive of what it is, but no one has used before. Think of metaphors. Tell your readers why it's important for them. Share your unique solution with an influencer who can  help you promote it. 5. Include  Infographics In Your Posts To Get More Shares Infographics get the most social shares of any blog post type. Not only do they get traffic,  they also bring you a lot of inbound links. In fact, KISSmetrics got 41,142 links from 3,741 unique domains by publishing 47 infographics within one year. Pretty cool, right? Meet Mike. Mike runs a New York-based SEO Agency. One of his clients, FCE pest control, wanted more traffic. So, they approached Mike. But, there was a problem:  Pest control. I mean, how boring of a niche is that!?  And, who’s going to read a pest control blog? But, Mike didn’t give up. Instead, he rolled up his sleeves and made a fascinating infographic. And the results speak for themselves... That infographic got 1,117 social shares, 12 backlinks, and 15% more traffic within two weeks! So you're sold on infographics, but don't have  a  budget to hire a designer? Don't worry, you can do it yourself using tools like Canva, Easel.ly, and  Infogr.am. Practice the five  fundamentals of good design: consistency, repetition, alignment, hierarchy, and proximity. Gather Expert Advice  For Round-Up Posts To Steal  Their Audience When I was starting out, I was  getting the same advice over and over again: Interview a big name  in your niche. It will  give you a lot of visitors and subscribers. But, you know what, no influencer wanted to  interview with me. Because I was nobody to them. They weren't getting any value out of it. Yet, there’s also another thing that gives you exposure like interviews: It’s called expert  round-up posts. And the best part?  Lots of  influencers want to join in  because they also want to see their name alongside other experts.  And so, doing expert round-up posts is easier than an interview. In fact, it can give you a lot more visitors as compared to an interview.  Why? Because in  these posts  there’s a big number of influencers involved, and  so, there’s also a  big number of audiences involved. Publishing expert round-up posts  gives you huge wins like this: Just check out those social shares! And if you want to push it further, you have to put in some extra effort and convert it into a  monster roundup like the Ahrefs team published. How to rock these types of blog posts, you ask? Find your keyword around which you want to publish your post. This idea must be interesting both to your blog audience and to your experts. Make your list of experts. If you want to feature 30 experts, make a list of 60 experts.  You can find these people  by searching for your keyword and reading the posts other influencers have already published on related topics. Start approaching them one by one from less to more popular. Once you get a couple big names committed, you can name drop to entice other experts to join in. Established blogs  have their audience, and you just need to promote your blog in front of them. Indeed, this is the reason I’m writing for the Blog! In fact, Buffer  built their empire of 100,000 subscribers by posting 150 guest posts (I know it’s huge) in nine months. Also, look at Jon Morrow, founder of Boost Blog Traffic. He built a waiting list of 12,500 customers even before writing a single post on his own blog. Even some smart marketers like Neil Patel  are  publishing two guest posts per week  after having a massive list of customers- and that’s not just for audience, but he also does so to look authoritative. And the list is countless. Guest posts have  a lot of potential and can be a cornerstone in building your blog's audience. Writing a  guest post is a big deal, right? So here's how  you can guest post successfully: Identify the blog to guest post on that is a good fit for what you generally want to talk about and their audience will really care about. Research  all the posts that are popular on  that site. Find your main idea around the popular posts on that site. Pitch your best three  ideas and also write a small summary of why they'll be successful. If your idea is accepted, start writing your post, otherwise rinse and repeat the process. Write your post using the writing style that blog prefers. Create a bonus and landing page for the blog's audience to lure them to your own website and convert them into subscribers. Finally, leave the link in your author byline. In fact, case studies work like this because they  build brand credibility. I mean, just look at the  LeadPages Blog- every 2nd or 3rd post is a case study. And, the interesting thing is they even have  a link you can click to get featured on their blog. Monthly1k  is  Appsumo's email course  that  features four case studies on their landing page. The course helps Appsumo's prospects overcome their problems. And so, Appsumo features them on their homepage to grab more customers. So, if you ever get an email like this: Make the most of  it! Create a monster post covering the whole story like Ramsay did. Follow these tips to write an awesome case study: Research  case studies from top blogs in your niche. Make a list of all the questions your prospects are asking. Start your post with the main problem. Show the familiar pain your audience is suffering from. Tell a story using real people and examples. Explain the solution step-by-step with problem, solution, and outcome. Add as much information as you can add. Sprinkle proof and images all over your post. Pro Tip: Case studies have a story, they follow a detailed step-by-step approach to solving the problem, and so, they are invaluable both to reader and to writer. These are typically great for  the bottom of the marketing funnel to teach your readers why they should become your customers. 9. Repurpose, Republish, And Reinvent Old Posts To Get Even More Traffic As time passes, every post grows old and they don't  benefit your blog as they used to. But, that's not the result you wanted, right? You want to use them again, and you still want to get the same benefit they used to give. This is where your Medium blog comes in- you can use it to republish your post in front of a brand new audience. And that gives you great exposure. Look at Unbounce who got an  extra  144 views by reposting  an old post on Medium. Similarly, Buffer built a publication in Medium where they regularly repurpose their old content. In fact, Buffer didn't post any new content for one  month. They just updated old content repurposed it to Medium, Slideshare, and their own blog.  And the results? Less than a 5% dip in traffic. Other than that, they increased LinkedIn followers, Quora views, video views, and Slideshare followers. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Repurpose someone else's content. Seriously, look at this: Brian Dean  found  lots of  ranking factors posts that  actually only  contained  110–120 of Google's  200 ranking factors. So  he found his golden opportunity to write better content than anyone else and finally published a complete post on the topic himself covering every factor. And, as Brian recalls himself: When I saw that articles that  didn’t even list all 200 ranking factors  generated links like this, I realized  that I had a golden opportunity sitting in my lap. It took 10 gallons of coffee and 20 hours of sitting in front of my laptop (don’t worry, I took bathroom breaks) †¦ †¦but in the end, I had something that was clearly better than anything else out there. And let's not  forget the results he got after that: The shares alone on this post prove its success, though Brian also received tons of backlinks for his hard work. Here's how to implement this type of blog post: Find an old piece of content that has already worked worked well. Maybe it got lots of pageviews, social shares, or comments- you decide. Republish  it on Medium, LinkedIn Publisher, Business2Community, or BizSugar- it all depends on your niche. If you're republishing on Medium, try to submit it to a  Medium publication that has already built their reputation. Repurpose your post into new formats an post it in YouTube, SlideShare, Quora, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.  Embed your bonus material in the original blog post. Don't forget to add more value and make it more visually appealing. Expatriate Failure And Cross Cultural Communication Essay It is essential for businesses that are sending expatriate overseas to take precautions to ensure the success of the expatriate in effectively reaching his/her assigned goals. Expatriate failure rate is very high amongst U.S. managers (50%, APG Class Session #13) for many reasons. The failure of an expatriate can be very costly and time consuming for the companies who employ them. The question that needs to be answered is why expatriates fail so frequently and what can MNCs do to lower this failure rate and produce effective expatriate managers. Yet, another reason that companies fail when doing business overseas is the lack of emphasis placed on communication. In all areas of the world communication is done in many different ways. In order to effectively do business in Israel we must learn and understand the diverse ways that their culture must learn and understand the diverse ways that we communicate on a business as well as a social level. If RL Furniture Company can effectively choose or train an adaptive and knowledgeable employee who understands culture and its effects on business and can accompany that along with excellent communication skills, MNCs can directly lower the failure rate amongst expatriates. Expatriates Expatriate Failure There are several reasons why our expatriate may fail in Israel. Expatriate failure can be very costly and can turn a possibly successful business venture into a disaster. The first reason for expatriate failure stems from adaptation problems with the physical and social environments. (Rodrigues pg. 264) This holds especially true when these environments are especially at odds with those of the expatriates home country. We have an advantage in sending our expat, Israelis cultural dimension similarities outweigh their differences, this will make it easier for us to understand their negotiating style before arriving. Some expatriates feel separation anxiety and isolation (culture shock) when they are working in countries with a very different social and values system than their own. (APG Class Session #13) These situations lower the expatriate morale and affect his/her ability to do their job effectively. Differences in technical sophistication also present problems with expats. (Rodrigues pg. 265) The problems lie with conflicts in expectations and when the expat views these problems as insurmountable. Conflicts in this situation also occur in when the expatriate manager tries to apply home country managerial  and organizational techniques to a culture not used to these concepts. This leads to poor implementation of strategies and goals. Expatriate managers also find that carrying out objectives and implementing home country strategies to be very difficult decisions about policies and management style. Expatriates often deal with the conflict of operating within the constraints of the local government and satisfying the home country objectives. Country conflicting policies and objectives present very serious problems with the decision making of expatriate managers. (Rodrigues pg. 265) Expatriate managers are responsible for carrying out orders and guidelines established by home corporate headquarters. The problems arise when the expatriate manager has local constraints placed on him and he/she must find ways to carry out the home country orders while operating under constrained conditions. The home country often does not realize or understand situations the expatriate manager must deal with and this can lead to very tough decisions for the expatriate. Overcentralization is also a problem that may lead to expatriate failure. (Rodrigues pg. 265) If the expatriate managers authority is visibly constrained by Israel or by local governments than his/her authority is jeopardized and he or she loses control and credibility in the eyes of the locals. Gender issues are not problems in many industrialized nations, such as the U.S., but in many nations, there are cultural biases against women, which prevent them from gaining the respect they need to effectively manage. (Rodrigues pg. 265) If a company mistakenly places a woman in charge of operations in a female biased country it can be viewed as disrespectful and show no care for the success OT the subsidiary. In many nations females have no power to make decision and women expats will find it difficult to lent credibility to the decision she makes. This is not the case in Israel they are a feminine culture similar to the U.S. Yet, another reason for expat failure is the lack of companies to consider family needs when moving family overseas to a new and unfamiliar country and culture. (Rodrigues pg. 269) It is more important for ss to prepare the expats family for their journey than it is to prepare the expatriate manager. A family can easily become unhappy and this can lead to poor job performance of the expatriate manager and high levels of stress. These high levels of stress make it difficult for managers to effectively do their job and live an enjoyable life in Israel. Communication Communications when doing business in Israel is an essential key to success. How business dealings are conveyed is very important. If translation is off or inaccurate than the success of the business venture can be seriously jeopardized. This applies not only to verbal communication, but with body language as well. (Rodrigues pg. 314) Body language in some countries is very important and the wrong body language can easily anger foreign business and steer them away from a possible business venture. In countries with language barrier companies must take measure to ensure that proper translation is used. If translation is off than it could mean that the wrong message is being conveyed. Although English is fluent in Israel, we should print our business cards in Hebrew on one side as a sign of respect for Israeli language and way of life. In countries where the same language is spoken body language becomes important. The wrong gesture could spell disaster for an expatriate manager. In order to avoid this problem companies should train and prepare a manager by training them on culture and communications and the possible and negative impact that it can have on the success of a business venture. In Israel business moves at a slower pace than in the United States. We need to build a strong relationship with our business partner before any deal can be made. Summary We can see that the success in a foreign business venture can depend heavily on expatriate preparation and communication skills. RL furniture Co. will be sending one expatriate to Israel to manage an overseas operation. We have discovered that there could be many problems that could lead to our expatriate failing and in turn out companys business venture failing too. To avoid these problems we plan to set up evaluations to determine who would  be the best expatriate manager we will send to Israel. Once we have found the right person for the job, we will set up an intensive training program that will prepare him/her to do their job as effectively as possible. In this training, we will ensure the expat understands Israeli culture and how to effectively adjust to it. In understanding the culture and by developing essential communication skills we are sure that our expatriate manager will be able to carry out company goals while effectively managing operations. My Philosophy of Teaching Essays -- Philosophy of Education

Philosophy of Education Throughout the history of education, there have been many different philosophical views. The views have varied from Plato's "The Republic," to Rousseau's "Emile". Plato believed that the purpose of education was to create a perfect city-state, while Rousseau believed that the purpose was to develop people, who freely choose good. Both of these philosophies cooperate with my beliefs; however, my beliefs do differ in some aspects. Through my philosophies covering the nature of humans, curriculum, and teaching methods I hope to better educate the students and America a better place to live. First, I believe that humans are naturally good. The environment that a child grows up in affects the way that they act. Children are easily manipulated and I believe that the people in their early years are the ones that influence them the most. I believe the most important influences in a child's life are his parent and his teacher. In my own experience, I remember my kindergarten teacher spanking me when I was younger for no apparent reason. I could not figure out why she was doing this to me and it hurt my self-esteem, which made me not even want togo to school. However, my parents helped me Iovercome these problems. My parents influenced me to work harder and be myself no matter what. I would have to say that my parents were the biggest ~nfluence of my life; the things they taught me will stick with me the rest of my life. Secondly, I believe that everybody is born in certain classes. Like Plato, I believe there are classes with into which you are born. I believe that there are born leaders and then the children who do not have the same opportunities. I think you have to separate the two as soon as po... ...uate assistant on the Baseball field, while getting my masters in sports management. After that, I plan to coach college or high school baseball and teach physical education, hopefully for my alma mater Southeast High School. My goal is to become an athletic director, teacher, and coach at the same time because we all know that is where the money is. If a graduate assistant job does not open up, I plan to coach high school baseball and take night classes at Kent State for my masters. Furthermore, all aspects of teaching are important. As teachers, we hold the future of America in our hands with educating the youth. All aspects of teaching are important in shaping the youth of America. With the philosophies of some of the worlds greatest thinkers ever and with some philosophies of our own, I hope we can bring theeducation of America's youth to a higher level.~

More Work for Mother

It was in the nineteenth century when a new adulation of women came to be developed.   More popularly known as the Victorian Age, it was during this era when the sacredness of the hearth and home has been born.   It is a philosophy that has been endorsed with intricacies and complications from the year 1830 until 1860 (Payne NP). Technology has caused an improvement in our standard of living.   While it claims to make our lives easier, it doesn’t always appear to be a time saving device.   â€Å"The creation of electric appliances has reduced the amount of work children and husbands do around the house.†Ã‚   Wives, on their end consume the same amount of time doing the household chores because the help they use to receive has been included in the elimination that gave way to the advent of technological advances (Cowan 102 – 217). The functionalist interpretation of the recent history of the family has been discussed.  Ã‚  Ã‚   â€Å"Industrialization was a participant in the ‘backward search for femininity' because some of women's roles in the household were being replaced by technology; women were searching for new ways of being a woman within the home.†Ã‚   Some theories would have it that the advent of home appliances has caused wives to leave their homes and find their niche in the outside world.   Technology has been the causal agent to the entrance of women into the workforce outside the portals of their own homes (Ibid, par. 2). Running a family means learning new things every single day.   It’s like learning earth science and geography.   It doesn’t end when you tie the knot.   Instead, it just reminds you that you have just advanced to graduate – level studies.   Just when you think you’ve mastered it, it changes itself a bit and as a result, you have re- learn it.   After all, family life is a lifestyle.   Old habit dies hard indeed that though there has been a transition from the hearth to the microwave, wives remained domesticated just the same.   Times have passed and things have changed but you still find yourself doing the same things with just a little twist or two.   For there will always be days when it feels like you’re struggling through remedial math. Advanced Practice Nurse and United Kingdom Essay

Introduction The roles of the APRN are continuously evolving. From the early 1960s to present day, advanced practice nurses continue to rise to meet the needs of our communities and abroad. As the number of nurse practitioner-advanced practice nurses (NP-APNs) on a steady incline, the various barriers in defining their roles in the US as well as internationally has limited their ability to function at their full potential. As discussed in An International Survey on Advanced Practice Nursing Education, Practice, and Regulation (Pulcini, Jelic, Gul & Loke, 2009), NP-APN nomenclature, scope of practice and education are factors in the development of the roles of APRNs internationally. NP-APN Nomenclature The United States and United Kingdom both utilize the title of nurse practitioner; however, other countries, such as South Korea, Singapore, and Switzerland continue to use the title advanced practice nurse (Pulcini, Jelic, Gul & Loke, 2009). This can lead to confusion on the part of the patient and family member who may not be familiar with the role of the advanced practice nurse in the clinical setting. Also, the authors’ state that the United Kingdom uses the terms specialist and NP interchangeably. According to Pulcini et al (2009), â€Å"This interchange of terms most often occurs when the nurse who has specialized knowledge in a certain area has a advanced practice title (p. 32).† Scope of Practice As mentioned by Joel (2009), â€Å"The degree of autonomy afforded to APNs varies from country to country, and even within the country (p.76)†. The NP-APN scope of practice includes advanced health assessment, diagnosis, disease management, health education and promotion, referral ability, prescribing diagnostic procedures, medications and treatment plans, admitting and discharging privileges, patient caseload management, collaborative practice, evaluation of healthcare services, and research (Pulcini, Jelic, Gul & Loke, 2009). The United Kingdom and United States have similarities in their origins. Both were established to help meet the needs of the rural and underserved areas as well as the overall population. In the United Kingdom, NPs were utilized as the first level of care for patient triage and in primary care (Pulcini, Jelic, Gul & Loke, 2009). Another similarity is their prescriptive rights in both the US and the UK. According to Joel, â€Å"The move, originating in England, to enable nurses to undergo a specified nonmedical prescribing program has resulted in over 10,000 nurses who are now classed as independent prescribers, and as a consequence, can prescribe almost everything from the British National Formulary (p.90)†. Educational Requirements As in many professions, education is the key element to being successful and productive. The standard educational requirement for NPs in the United States in a master’s level degree; however in the United Kingdom is still trying to adopt a master’s level program. According to Pulcini et al (2009), â€Å"While the Royal College of nursing in the United Kingdom has developed a master’s curriculum for NP education, universities are not obliged to adopt it (p.33).† Furthermore, NP courses are both offered at the baccalaureate and master’s level in the UK. Conclusion The United States and United Kingdom have numerous similarities and differences in the roles of the APRNs. In the future, these roles will continue to evolve to meet the needs of the community.

john howard essays It was early morning in Baghdad. The sun had just begun to creep over the sand dunes of the Iraqi desert and the coalition forces were poised for their attack. They had entered the city during the night, and were waiting at their posts for the signal to come from their commanders. They had been told that an Iraqi weapons stockpile was being kept inside the warehouse that they were now surrounding. The plan was to go in, arrest anyone at the scene and secure all of the weapons. President Bush had been unable to attend the operation so he had sent John Howard, the Prime minister of Australia as his replacement. The idea was to broadcast live footage of the Prime Minister and coalition troops seizing the weapons, then for Howard to make a speech on how successful the overthrowing of Saddam Hussein had been so far. The warehouse had been well covered up. It was old and run-down and had peeling signs and advertisements scattered across the outside walls. A large, half worn out photo of some biscuits in a tin was painted above the main doors, suggesting it had once been a biscuit factory or something of the sort. The signal came through on the radio. The troops ran for the warehouse in force, two at the front used a battering ram to knock down the doors. They charged inside straight away, struck by the huge piles of boxes covering the warehouse floor. They moved in groups checking every last inch of ground for possible attackers. There was only one other room apart from the main storage area. It seemed like a managers office, the only furniture inside being a desk and chair. A squad entered the office whilst the rest began opening and searching the many boxes. The only object found in the office was a small handgun in the desk drawer, probably for security reasons. After hours of checking through boxes all they could find were clothes, they must have been dumped there or were waiting to be exported out of the country ...

Keep the thermometer out of direct sunlight.  If the sun is shining on your thermometer, its going to record the heat from the sun,  and not the ambient heat in the air. For this reason, always be careful to place thermometers in the shade.Dont place your thermometer too low near the ground or too high above it. Too low, and it will pick up excess heat from the ground. Too high and it will cool from winds. A height of around five feet above ground works best.Place the thermometer in an open, well-ventilated area. Shielding it from the sun, rain, snow, and frost provides a standardized environment.Place it over a natural (grassy or dirt) surface. Thats because the ambient temperature doesnt take into account the relative humidity of the air or the impact of the wind on human perceptions of heat or cold.   The amount of moisture (mugginess) or humidity in the air can make it harder for sweat to evaporate; this, in turn, will make you feel warmer. As a result, the heat index will increase even if the ambient air temperature will remain steady. This explains why dry heat is often less bothersome than moist heat. Winds can play a role in how cold a temperature will feel to human skin. The wind chill factor can cause the air to have a perceived lower temperature. Thus, an ambient temperature of 30 degrees Fahrenheit can feel like 30 degree, 20 degrees, or even ten degrees in a stiff breeze.

Good local schools became more competitive to enter, and while the middle and upper class were able to continue to search for good schools out of district, low class families were stuck, unable to provide the money to allow their children to be transported to a better school. This policy of "choice" made good schools more competitive, but it did not have the desired effect on the rest of the schools nationwide. Good schools were supposed to become more accessible to all students thus creating a better education system. While debating the 1988 Reform Bill in the U.K., Norman Nebbit (1987) said "The Bill extends choice and responsibilityToday only the wealthy have choice in education and that must be changed." By creating this policy reformists thought to make the education more equitable. Like free market economics, "choice" education allowed the market to blindly move based on its will rather than following the desire of the state's politicians. Parents choose the best schools, and those schools which are not as popular must be allowed to improve or close. Bureaucracy would not protect the schools from their unpopularity, with the euphemism of 'under-enrolment'; schools would be completely at the will of the parents or the consumer (Chubb & Moe, 1990, pp. 29-30). The good schools would expand to accommodate the needs of the students, in other words, it's a theory of survival of the fittest with the parents responsible for deciding who is the fittest. Unfortunately, there are a few very serious problems with this theory; first and foremost, schools are not a business. Unlike a business that is constantly trying to increase in size to accommodate demand, schools have no such motivator. In fact it has been proven that smaller schools, and smaller class size are considerably more desirable, because they provide more individualized attention for the students (Bickel & Howley, 2000). Popular schools have no reason to expand their school to accommodate the influx in desired attendance provided by "choice" education policy. Instead, they have the ability to become more selective in their acceptance of students (Edwards et al, 1989). Although this was not the intention, it is an outcome that is important to recognize in looking at the effectiveness of the policy. The exit of some students diminishes the chances of others to receive the same quality of education (Murnane, 1990). The second problem with this theory is overflow students. If the popular schools are not willing to accommodate the increased demand, the students have to be schooled elsewhere. This inherently means that schools that are not as popular, and potentially not as good, will have the ability to recruit students and survive even in their inferior status.
