It has changed the way that business and consumers work and operate. Companies such as eBay and Amazon have become a success because of the high demand that high-street market places cant provide. eBay and Amazon are some of the more popular e-commerce sites as they only operate online with no stores anywhere in the world. They are some companies which started before the internet came about such as Asda or Tescos so they have adapted and incorporated an e-commerce site in order to keep up with the trend, consumer way and demand. Amazon Amazon is an e-commerce company founded in the United States of America in 1994 by Jeff Bezos and was launched in 1995. Amazon was very well known since it was first brought to the public eye, as it was one of the first big companies to sell goods on the internet. It started out as an online bookstore which then quickly developed and started to add other items such as VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, video games and the list goes on. Amazon is now one of the biggest online sellers today, offering over two hundred million different products. How it works Amazon now offers all sorts of products ranging from gardening to high tech. Art is My Life From an early age I have always had a strong interest in art, and have been involved with it in some form all through my life. In year nine I realized that it was something that I might like to pursue as a career, I started taking it more seriously. The Chase's art department encouraged me very well and helped me develop my art skills. I am currently studying Art at A-level and have had my work exhibited in a gallery and in local industry buildings as part of the 'Art in the Workplace' scheme which is organized by my college. The piece of my artwork which was displayed, and used in a business's workplace was a painting inspired by an Art Department trip to Italy. In my spare time, I enjoy running my own comedy website with my friends, which has enabled me to learn good organizational skills. Aside from art, I enjoy playing basketball with other students from my college every Wednesday afternoon. I have found this to be a welcome break from normal study, allowing me to exercise at the same time as relieving stress. My present interest in art is more graphic/typography based, although I do enjoy all areas of art. I have been designing graphics on my computers from a young age and have work published in national magazines. Not all the graphical work I do is computer based, I enjoy using traditional mediums in a clean graphical way, as I find it more satisfying working on a larger scale and producing something more "real". My current course has helped me "branch out" more; I have experimented in many disciplines successfully producing paintings, pastels and drawings, which I had never really developed fully before. The latter involved 100 international students who are also movie-goers. Product placement has been investigated in terms of its benefits to its benefits before moving on to its history and how it has become to what it is today. The different facets of product placement were assessed in terms of its impact on movie goers. Moreover the current study made use of a questionnaire as a means of data gathering. The respondents have been randomly selected, and made to answer a product placement questionnaire focusing on the movie Transformers. The results of the survey suggest that product placement is an effective form of advertising regardless of its form. In addition, since the movie has longer life span than other types of advertisements, this makes product placement more desireable and more effective. Just in the case of this paper, a study of the movie Transformers reveal that indeed, many of those who were surveyed has seen the movie. Perhaps they have seen it in movie theatres. But even if its already not yet showing, some were still able to see it since it is available in other forms such as DVD and VCD. Most of the respondents were still able to recall one of the main characters in the movie – Bumblebee – suggesting that it is able to increase brand recall. When most of them say they would buy the brand they recalled and only very few said they wouldn’t because they do not trust the brand, it can therefore be said that indeed, product placement is very effective. One of the main elements of most of the companies that are employed by the company in its running is being too responsive to their customers locally and ensuring that they are connected to them, (Introna, 2014). The companies create communication feedback to ensure that they access information from their customers through various ways including using social media platforms. From the information, they get they can identify which places they should rectify and areas of their strongholds, which they can improve on. However, the company first have to put its employees on the frontline first to make sure they are directly involved in decision-making process. When the employees are required in decision-making process, it minimizes the chances of resistance when a particular change is implemented. Also, it makes the employees have a sense of b elonging of the company and therefore they can be loyal to the company, which will lead to maximum output. In conclusion, performance measurement and control system practices such as long-term or short-term investments are implemented in the company during the growth phase. Also, they help in decision-making process such as which aspects they should put into place while bringing the change. During the growth phase, also the company considers the risks it may encounter and the measures it should take in case there is a problem, which is implemented from performance measurement and control system.
